UjENA Care Tips
Before Your First Wear
To keep your swimsuit vibrant and prevent color fading or bleeding, soak it for 30 minutes in a mixture of water and white vinegar (1 tablespoon of vinegar per 1 quart of water). Rinse thoroughly in cool water and hang to dry—avoid direct sunlight.
After Each Wear
- Rinse your suit in cool water after each use, especially after being in a hot tub, chlorinated pool, or saltwater. Many resorts and public pools have outdoor showers—use these to rinse off pool, ocean, or hot tub water.
- Even if you didn’t get wet, rinse your suit to remove sunscreen, sweat, and body oils.
- To remove excess water, gently roll your suit (don’t wring it out), then air-dry away from direct sunlight.
- DO NOT use a washing machine or dryer.
Additional Tips
- Rinse new suits separately until any excess dye washes out; some initial dye bleeding is normal and will stop after a few washes.
- Avoid wearing the same suit two days in a row to prevent stretching; give it a 24-hour rest so the spandex can recover its shape.
- Steer clear of rough surfaces like rocks, cement, or wood to prevent snags.
Things to Keep in Mind
Your UjENA suit is designed to make you look fabulous, so take care of it to keep it looking great for years to come. Our swimwear, with embellishments like gold, nickel, and beads, can withstand salt and chlorinated water. Just be mindful that sun exposure, tanning lotions, oils, harsh chemicals, saltwater, chlorine, and extreme heat can naturally wear down any swimsuit and may cause yellowing over time—this is not a manufacturing defect.
Wear your UjENA suit often and enjoy it—just remember to follow these care instructions to preserve its beauty and longevity.
